hiraeth

Hiraeth is a Welsh word which has no direct translation in to English, but means something like "a longing for home". This project was undertaken as part of a brief to photograph images that were evocative of hiraeth. Welsh people were asked to define what being Welsh meant to them. Their answers gave me the direction to follow, and the ten most popular answers were used as the theme of the photographs.
