John is a photographer with many talents beyond taking pictures. Photography is his latest venture having previously been a hydraulic engineer, a computer programmer and IT manager. Along the way he has taught at a number of Universities at all levels, from HNC to MBA .

A life long passion for photography has been taken to the next level by enrolling on the well respected BA (Hons) Documentary Photography degree at the University of Wales, Newport. The experiences on this course have broadened John's photographic interests, but at the heart of his work is a desire for self exploration through the medium. His latest projects have been centred around learning about where he lives. After many years of moving around John has settled in the heart of the Rhymney Valley, which features in both the Roadside Memorial and the Memories of Labour projects.

In addition to his personal projects John has under taken a number of commercial assignments, including weddings and product photography for the Bulldog Krafts website.
